Tuner15

Directed by Daniel Roher | Canada/USA | 2025 | 1h 47m | Starring Leo Woodall, Dustin Hoffman, Havana Rose Liu, Tovah Feldshuh, Ellyn Jameson

A talented piano tuner’s life is turned upside down when he discovers that his meticulous skills for tuning pianos can equally be applied to cracking safes. Soon he’s pulled into a series of heists by a criminal gang, and things grow even more complicated when he falls for a talented music student. Academy Award-winning director Daniel Roher makes his narrative feature debut with a thriller that crackles with sharp plotting, rich characters, and engaging performances by Leo Woodall and Dustin Hoffman.

Reviews

‘First-time feature director Daniel Roher connects lot of smart, contemporary insights to the B-movie plot mechanics. I don’t mean that to sound snide — done right, like a great diner meal, few pleasures beat B-movie plot mechanics.’
★★★★★
Danny Leigh, The FT

‘What a pair [Leo Woodall and Dustin Hoffman] are; they are a real pleasure to watch in an easy, unforced drama that mixes romcom moments with a relaxed crime thriller. It’s like the Safdie brothers in chill out mode.’
★★★★
Cath Clarke, The Guardian
