Bear works at a music shop and is head over heels for his friend Nikki, but he can’t bring himself to tell her. On a whim, he makes a wish with a lucky charm he bought at the store. Suddenly, Nikki is mad about him. But as Bear is about to find out, getting what you want can come at a terrible cost. In his feature debut, writer-director Curry Barker takes a familiar setup and makes it feel fresh by bringing a sharp, dark sense of humour and a slow-building dread that gets under the skin.
Reviews
With a simple premise and one unassuming wish, Barker immerses his audience in a dark scenario that only escalates in tension and carnage. It’s the kind of horror movie that makes a viewer uneasy almost from the start and doesn’t let up.’
★★★★★
Monica Castillo, The AV Club
‘Barker’s moody colour grading and grip on scare timings combined with two truly remarkable lead performances and sparing but effective use of gore elevate Obsession ’s familiar premise.’
★★★★
Emma Kiely, Little White Lies

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
