Kino Kids Cinema Club

Jan 15, 2025 | News

Join us for our brand new fortnightly strand of family-friendly classics (old and new), the Kino Kids Cinema Club! Every other Sunday (with extra screenings during the school holidays), we will be screening some of the very best kids films for 5-11 year olds in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy animated adventures, classic kids movies from all around the world, festive favourites, and more. Come experience the joy of cinema together as a family!

Tickets for Kino Kids Cinema Club screenings are £4 for Children (under-15s) and £6 for Adults. Screenings are relaxed, meaning that the sound will be turned down a notch, and the lights will be up a little, and we don’t mind if people make a bit of noise or move around during the film. The UPP will sell food and drink and provide free craft activities, but do feel free to bring your own crafts and/or lunch if that suits you better.

Blending real life and imagination, Liyana follows a group of orphaned children in Swaziland as they work with South African storyteller Gcina Mhlope to create their own original tale. As the children’s story unfolds, the film weaves between their real voices and beautiful animated scenes that bring Liyana’s adventure to life. The result is an inspiring mix of documentary and animation that celebrates the power of storytelling. (1h 17m)
