UK Green Film Festival 2025: As The Tide Comes InCert-TBC
On the remote island of Mandø, home to just 27 residents, harsh weather and flooding are part of daily life. But with climate change, these challenges are growing more extreme. Still, Gregers, the island’s last remaining farmer and a member of a family that has lived there for eight generations, refuses to leave. Featuring breathtaking cinematography of Mandø’s striking landscape and ever-changing skies, this award-winning documentary offers a moving and intimate look at a global crisis through one man’s enduring connection to his home.
Reviews
‘Johannesen is a visual anthropologist and spent time with the island’s inhabitants, listening to stories and earning their trust, before any cameras arrived; this results in a palpable intimacy between filmmakers and subjects.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
