The Green Knight15

David Lowery | USA | 2021 | 2h 5m | Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, Sarita Choudhury, Ralph Ineson

Based on a timeless Arthurian legend, reckless knight Sir Gawain embarks on a daring journey to confront the mythical Green Knight. He must contend with ghosts, giants, and thieves in an eerie quest to prove his honour. The Knights of the Round table gets a fresh twist in this atmospheric adaptation by acclaimed director David Lowery (A Ghost Story, The Old Man and the Gun).

Reviews

‘What a strange and peculiarly powerful film this is…a rich and wild fantasy’ ★★★★★ Mark Kermode, The Observer

‘The casting of Patel is a stroke of genius. He softens Gawain’s arrogance and deepens his soul, so that the audience can’t help but root for his success.’ ★★★★★ Clarisse Loughery, The Independent

Plan your visit

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
