During a summer in the Basque Country, eight-year-old Coco begins to comes to terms with her identity. As the days pass, she explores her femininity alongside the women of her family, while her well-meaning mother Ane goes through an identity crisis of her own. With its beautifully bucolic setting, Estibaliz Urresola’s delicate debut features an award-winning performance from its young star Sofía Otero (Best Leading Performance, Berlin Film Festival 2022).

Reviews

‘Sofía Otero won the Silver Bear for best lead performance at the Berlin Film Festival this year at the age of just nine. To achieve that, it surely needs to be one of the best moppet turns of all time — and I think it quite possibly is.’
★★★★★
James Saynor, The Arts Desk

‘With this gentle, empathic picture, Urresola joins a conversation that usually plays out as a screaming match, and tones it down to a murmur.’
★★★★
Wendy Ide, The Observer

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
