The Way of the Dragon15

Directed by Bruce Lee | Hong Kong | 1972 | 1h 39m | Mandarin w/ English subtitles | Starring Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Nora Miao, Ping-Ou Wei, Chung-Hsin Huang

A country bumpkin martial artist travels to Rome to visit his relatives, only to find their restaurant under threat from ruthless gangsters. As he trains the waiters in self-defence and takes on the Italian thugs himself, he soon faces a new challenge—battling elite fighters flown in from America. Following the success of The Big Boss and Fist of Fury, Bruce Lee was given full creative control to write, produce, and direct his next film. The result is a kung fu classic that blends thrilling action, stunning location filmmaking, and charming humour, leaving a lasting influence on Hong Kong cinema for decades to come.

This screening features an introduction by Dr Lindsay Steenberg (Associate Professor in Film Studies, Oxford Brookes University)”
