Blending rare archival footage with electrifying scenes from the 2022 Teaches of Peaches Anniversary Tour, this documentary traces the evolution of Merrill Nisker into the iconic cultural force known as Peaches. Offering an intimate portrait of a groundbreaking artist, the film captures Peaches’ fearless creativity as she defies social norms, challenges patriarchy, and boldly explores gender and sexual identity, leaving a lasting impact on pop culture.

What’s Left After The Wave Hits?

Shot predominantly in black and white using 16mm film, this documentary explores Tehrani’s personal story of being raised in a mixed-heritage home, navigating a difficult upbringing and the Oxford music scene, and working hard to progress YWMP out of desire for a safe space. With a soundtrack that highlights the connection between music, healing, and hope, this film showcases the power good mentorship, good people and great passion can do.

Presented in collaboration with local music charity Young Women’s Music Project, who will receive 50% of all ticket income.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
