This October, things get seriously scary at the UPP. Her-steria is a season celebrating some of horror cinema’s most unforgettable female performances – women pushed to the edge, fighting back, falling apart, taking control and, occasionally, taking no prisoners.
From the raw psychological terror of Hereditary and the ferocious revenge of Revenge, to the fever dream of Possession and the claustrophobic nightmare of Lady in a Cage, we’ll be putting some of horror’s most formidable women centre stage. And we’ll be building to Halloween with a very special prom night screening of Carrie, presented in association with the Evolution of Horror podcast, complete with a live podcast recording. Bring your best prom look. Expect blood.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
