Perfect DaysPG

Directed by Wim Wenders | Germany/Japan | 2023 | 2h 5m | Japanese w/ English subtitles | Starring Koji Yakusho, Tokio Emoto, Arisa Nakano, Miyako Tanaka, Long Mizuma

Hirayama fills his days by balancing his role as a diligent caretaker of Tokyo’s many public toilets with his love for music, literature, and photography. While he travels around the city, his regular routines are disrupted by a string of unexpected meetings that slowly unveil a hidden history beneath his seemingly tranquil existence. Legendary writer-director Wim Wenders (Paris Texas, Wings of Desire) merges an unconventional portrait of Tokyo with a poetic contemplation on finding beauty in our surroundings. Winner of Best Actor (Koji Yakusho) at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
