When Belfast music teacher JJ crosses paths with self-proclaimed “low life scum” Naoise and Liam Og, it sparks the creation of a one-of-a-kind hip-hop group. Inspired by Naoise’s father, an IRA stalwart who taught them the power of language and culture, the three form a politically charged, anti-establishment rap trio that embodies the spirit of defiance. Rich Peppiatt’s raucous and unconventional music biopic tells the true story of how this anarchic Belfast group became the unlikely leaders of a civil rights movement to save and revive their mother tongue.
Reviews
‘Can a movie leave you with a comedown? If it’s as raucous and unruly as Kneecap, a nonstop blizzard of beats, bumps of white powder and punky defiance of the British and Belfast’s sectarian past, the answer’s a firm “yes.”’

Philip De Semlyen, Time Out
‘It’s a film that not only signals a major musical arrival, but ends up feeling a lot bigger than the conventional (and often confining) boundaries of the “music biopic”.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
