Holy Cow15

Directed by Louise Courvoisier | France | 2024 | 1h 32m | French w/ English subtitles | Starring Clément Faveau, Maïwene Barthelemy, Luna Garret, Mathis Bernard, Dimitri Baudry

After his father’s tragic passing, 18-year-old Totone suddenly finds himself responsible for both his younger sister and their struggling family farm in France’s Jura region. Determined to secure their future, he takes an unconventional gamble by entering a competition to produce the region’s best Comté cheese, with a €30,000 prize at stake. A surprise audience favourite at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, this heartfelt coming-of-age drama shines with its delicate direction and remarkably authentic performances from its young, non-professional cast.

🏆 Winner of the Cannes Un Certain Regard Youth Prize.

Reviews
