Blue Heron15
In the late 1990s, eight-year-old Sasha has just moved with her family to a new home on Vancouver Island. But the fresh start they were hoping for is quickly overshadowed by her eldest brother Jeremy’s increasingly dangerous behaviour. Award-winning director Sophy Romvari makes her feature debut with a lyrical and deeply felt film about the bonds that hold families together, the forces that pull them apart, and the fragile, shifting nature of memory.
Reviews
‘“Blue Heron” may be the most emotionally devastating film of the year – and also perhaps the most comforting.’

Josh Slater-Williams, IndieWire
‘This staggering debut relitigates the past and the perspective one had while living it, performed with the regret and acceptance that sadly only comes with time.’

Jacob Oller, The AV Club

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
