This feature-length documentary tells the story of a historic, once-in-a-lifetime concert held at Black Star Square in Accra on March 6, 1971. The event marked the 14th anniversary of Ghana’s independence and drew a crowd of more than 100,000 people.

The original concert lasted 14 hours and featured some of the greatest African American musicians of the era, including Ike & Tina Turner, Wilson Pickett, The Staple Singers, Les McCann and Eddie Harris, Santana, and Voices of East Harlem, alongside local Ghanaian performers.

For many of the visiting artists this journey was deeply cathartic. It was the first time many of them had set foot in Africa. The film also follows the musicians in the days leading up to the concert, as they travel across Ghana, visiting villages and cultural landmarks, and connecting with the country beyond the stage.
