Amakki + Director Q&ACert-TBC
Amid the lush coffee-growing hills of Sidama, a modest home becomes the setting for an intimate portrait of two women. From dawn to dusk, they tend the land, prepare meals, and care for livestock. Their shared laughter, gentle care, and the ritual of freshly brewed coffee draw them closer, even as the weight of daily struggles tests their bond. This lyrical meditation on womanhood in Ethiopia captures the beauty and hardship of love, loss, and the quiet strength of motherhood.
Screening presented and curated by Tatenda Jamera of Maona Art, followed by an in-person Q&A with director Célia Boussebaa.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
