Slade In Flame12A
At the peak of their fame, glam-rock legends Slade confounded audiences with this gritty, no-glamour music drama that’s been hailed as “the Citizen Kane of British pop movies.” Set in the late 1960s, it follows the meteoric rise and messy implosion of a band caught in the ruthless machinery of the music industry. Far from a vanity project, this is a raw, cynical take on fame and exploitation, delivered with swagger and soul by the band themselves. Newly restored by the BFI, this cult classic roars back to the screen in all its jagged, electrifying glory.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
