The Goldman Case12A

Directed by Cédric Kahn | France | 2023 | 1h 56m | French w/ English subtitles | Starring Arieh Worthalter, Arthur Harari, Stéphan Guérin-Tillié, Nicolas Briançon, Aurélien Chaussade

In 1975, Pierre Goldman, a passionate and controversial figure in revolutionary left-wing activism, stood trial in France. Accused of four armed robberies, one of which led to the deaths of two women, Goldman pleaded not guilty. Dubbed the trial of the century, the case deeply divided the nation, highlighting the political, ideological, and racial tensions that defined 1970s Europe. Cédric Kahn’s electrifying dramatisation of these real-life events was one of the most celebrated films on the European film festival circuit, with Arieh Worthalter winning Best Actor at the 2024 César Awards.
