Hokum15
When novelist Ohm Bauman retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, he becomes increasingly unsettled by stories of a witch said to haunt the building’s honeymoon suite. As strange visions intensify and a guest mysteriously disappears, Ohm is drawn into a chilling confrontation with both the supernatural and the darkest parts of his own past. Blending psychological horror with eerie folklore, Irish filmmaker Damian McCarthy crafts a haunting, atmospheric ghost story anchored by a compelling performance from Adam Scott as a writer struggling with grief, trauma and forces beyond his understanding.
Reviews
‘Like the best ghost stories, you’ll stagger from the cinema with your goosebumps pipped and an icy finger dragging down your spine.’
★★★★
Simon Crook, Time Out
‘On top of an affecting personal quest for a non-despairing ending, it delivers a full evening of scares, chills, wicked jokes and haunted escape-room hijinks.’
★★★★
Kim Newman, Empire Magazine

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
