Together We Make presents: Lady Bird (Craft-A-Long Screening)15

Together We Make is proud to share our first collaboration with UPP: CLOSE KNIT, a crafting community centred around needle-based crafts such as knitting, crochet, and sewing. These sessions are designed as informal, low-pressure social gatherings where you can enjoy your craft in the company of like-minded people. Our aim is to create a calm, creative community space where connection and creativity come first, without any expectations or pressure. Our CLOSE KNIT film screening at UPP is a unique opportunity to experience the atmosphere of Oxford’s oldest picture house while crafting alongside fellow makers. Please note that there is absolutely no pressure to craft during the session. If you’d simply like to come along and watch the film, you’re very welcome to do so.

LADY BIRD (15)
Dir. Greta Gerwig. USA, 2017. 1h 34m. Starring Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf, Lucas Hedges, Timothée Chalamet, Beanie Feldstein
Lady Bird McPherson is a strong-willed, deeply opinionated, artistic 17-year-old coming of age in Sacramento. As she prepares to leave for college, her bond with her mother, and the upbringing that shaped her, is put to the test. Greta Gerwig’s directorial debut, which received five Oscar nominations, is a bittersweet look at the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us, and the unmatched beauty of a place called home.

Please note that house lights will stay on at a medium level throughout the screening to make craft activities easier to see.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
