The Roses15

Directed by Jay Roach | UK/USA | 2025 | 2h 1m | Starring Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Allison Janney, Andy Samberg, Kate McKinnon

Theo and Ivy look like the perfect couple: thriving careers, a happy marriage, wonderful kids. But when Theo’s career collapses just as Ivy’s ambitions soar, cracks in their relationship begin to show. Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch star in this sharply written, darkly funny, and painfully relatable look at the blurred lines between love and rivalry.

Reviews

‘A smart, wild, entertaining mix of droll British humour and glossy Hollywood film-making.’
★★★★
Caryn James, BBC

‘What Cumberbatch and Colman bring to the screen, perhaps more so than any other British film actors working today, is an ability to perform a breakneck shift in tone, sometimes mid-sentence.’
★★★★
Kevin Maher, The Times
