Late Night With the Devil15

Directed by Cameron & Colin Cairnes | Australia/USA | 2023 | 1h 33m | Starring David Dastmalchian, Laura Gordon, Ingrid Torelli, Ian Bliss, Fayssal Bazzi

In October 1977, a failing late-night talk show host made television history with his audience-baiting Halloween special that tragically spiralled out of control. Now, four decades later, a recently discovered master tape unveils the truth about that fateful night when evil was unleashed on the nation’s living room screens. Imagine Ghostwatch reinvented as a kitschy 1970s American talk show; this devilishly devised and wickedly funny found-footage horror film delivers plenty of chills.

Reviews

‘Smart, cynical and at times devilishly funny, the film delivers a crackle of disruptive static to the demonic possession genre.’
★★★★
Wendy Ide, The Observer

‘It’s wonderfully creepy and unnervingly familiar, like Alan Partridge by way of The Exorcist. If that doesn’t automatically enter it into the pantheon of classic midnight movies, I don’t know what does.’
★★★★
Philip De Semlyen, Time Out

Please note: our screening on Thursday 2nd May will NOT include Deaf/HOH subtitled as previously advertised. Apologies for any convenience.
