Kino Kids Cinema Club: CalamityPG

Directed by Rémi Chayé & Céline Ronté | France | 2020 | 1h 25m | French w/ English subtitles

In 1863, young Martha Jane is crossing the American West with her family in a caravan bound for Oregon. When her father is injured, she bravely takes charge, caring for her siblings and even learning to drive the family wagon. Her bold choices challenge the expectations placed on girls at the time, leading her into exciting, sometimes dangerous adventures on the frontier. Calamity is a beautifully animated homage to Westerns and reimagining of the childhood of the legendary Calamity Jane.

Tickets for Kino Kids Cinema Club screenings are £4 for Children (under-15s) and £6 for Adults. Screenings are relaxed, meaning that the sound will be turned down a notch, and the lights will be up a little, and we don’t mind if people make a bit of noise or move around during the film.

All children (aged 11 and under) must be accompanied by adults at all times, nor shall we admit adults who do not have children with them. If you have any questions or need any more information about these screenings, please feel free to get in touch by emailing us at: [email protected]
