Summer Creature Double Feature: Creature from the Black LagoonPG

Directed by Jack Arnold | USA | 1954 | 1h 19m | Starring Richard Carlson, Julie Adams, Richard Denning, Antonio Moreno, Nestor Paiva

In the mysterious waters of the Amazon River, fossils are found of a potential ‘missing link’ in the evolutionary journey from sea to shore dwellers. A crack scientific team sets off to investigate, ending up in the Black Lagoon of indigenous fables. While there, they encounter more than just bones and tensions between members of the team are brought to a head as the potential discovery about life becomes a threat to theirs. Atmospherically made, with mesmerising underwater photography and choreography, Creature From The Black Lagoon is a classic for the ages.

Creature From The Black Lagoon is showing alongside The Shape of Water (2017) as part of a Summer Creature Double Feature, introduced by Dr Michael Goodrum (Canterbury Christ Church University). Book tickets to both screenings in a single transaction and receive a 25% discount on the total cost.
