When his estranged sister asks him to look after her son, a radio journalist sets off on an impromptu cross-country trip with his energetic nephew. Joaquin Phoenix gives a terrifically empathetic performance in this emotional yet unsentimental family drama, shot in black-and-white by acclaimed indie filmmaker Mike Mills (20th Century Women).
‘Joaquin Phoenix is at his career-best in this great, big bear hug of a film’
Clarisse Loughery, The Independent
‘This is a movie about listening – really listening – to what other people have to say.’
Wendy Ide, The Observer

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
