Black Bag15

Directed by Steven Soderbergh | USA | 2024 | 1h 34m | Starring Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Tom Burke, Naomie Harris, Pierce Brosnan

When intelligence agent Kathryn Woodhouse is suspected of betraying the nation, her husband – also a legendary agent – faces the ultimate test of whether to be loyal to his marriage, or his country. Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender deliver electrifying chemistry in this seductive spy thriller from acclaimed director Steven Soderbergh (Sex, Lies, and Videotape).

Reviews

‘While the supporting cast are impeccable across the board, it’s really Blanchett and Fassbender’s film to command, with performances that drip with old-school star power.’
★★★★★
Clarisse Loughery, The Independent

‘Cerebral rather than action-packed, it’s like a classic le Carré (or, with its Harry Palmer allusions, Len Deighton) thriller, brought bang up to date with stylish direction, outrageously thirsty acting, and some bone-dry wit.’
★★★★
Philip De Semlyen, Time Out
