Big Night15

Directed by Stanley Tucci | USA | 1996 | 1h 49m | Starring Tony Shalhoub, Stanley Tucci, Minnie Driver, Isabella Rossellini, Allison Janney

In 1950s New Jersey, two Italian brothers are struggling to keep their restaurant afloat. In a final effort to turn their fortunes around, they devise a plan to host a spectacular banquet, hoping to impress a famous Italian-American singer who is visiting town. Stanley Tucci’s directorial debut is a heartwarming and insightful comedy that explores the ties of family, ambition, and friendship, all served alongside a truly mouth-watering pasta dish.

‘By the end of the movie, we have been through an emotional and a sensual wringer, in a film of great wisdom and delight.’
★★★★
Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
