Father Mother Sister Brother15

Directed by Jim Jarmusch | France/USA | 2025 | 1h 50m | Starring Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps

Two siblings visit their father in rural New Jersey. In Dublin, two contrasting sisters gather for their annual tea with their mother. In Paris, a pair of twins return to their family home in the aftermath of a tragedy. In Father Mother Sister Brother, acclaimed director Jim Jarmusch (Paterson, Broken Flowers) weaves together three interlinked stories into a quietly moving and subtly humorous triptych that explores the complexities of family relationships. Featuring an outstanding ensemble cast including Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, and Vicky Krieps, the film was awarded the Golden Lion for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival.

Reviews

‘This lilting, lyrical study of parent-child relationships is an offering of sublime tenderness and delicate observation…Perfectly tuned to the point of painful recognition.’
★★★★★ Blake Simons, Little White Lies

‘There is a contentment and calm here, an acceptance and a Zen simplicity that is a cleansing of the moviegoing palate, or perhaps the fiction-consuming palate in general. It is a film to savour.’
★★★★ Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
