The Young Girls of RochefortU
In the seaside town of Rochefort, twin sisters Delphine and Solange dream of love and artistic fulfilment beyond their tranquil daily lives. Over the course of a weekend fair, sailors, artists, musicians, and chance visitors drift through town, creating a series of near-misses and romantic longings that bring ideal partners tantalisingly close. With its jazzy score by Michel Legrand, pastel-hued costumes, and a radiant supporting cast, Jacques Demy, sixties French cinema’s great romantic dreamer, followed The Umbrellas of Cherbourg with this buoyant tribute to Hollywood optimism.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
