Better Man15

Directed by Michael Gracey | UK | 2024 | 2h 15m | Starring Robbie Williams, Jonno Davies, Steve Pemberton, Alison Steadman, Kate Mulvany

Pop icon Robbie Williams has experienced a fame-filled roller coaster like no other. From his early days as the youngest member of the chart-topping boyband Take That to his record-breaking success as a solo artist, Robbie’s journey has been marked by soaring triumphs and the challenges of stratospheric fame. In this inventive and unexpectedly poignant retelling of his life, director Michael Gracey explores the highs and lows of stardom—with Robbie portrayed, intriguingly, as a chimpanzee.

Reviews

‘Even more than with The Greatest Showman, director Michael Gracey has created a fun, bombastic, brilliant choreographed and totally enthralling film.’
★★★★★
Kaleem Aftab, Time Out

‘Bombastic and knowingly ridiculous, Better Man comes together with assured ease and persistent rough-around-the- edges charm. Planet of the Apes meets This Is Spinal Tap meets Kes meets Cabaret. And it works.’
