The Room Next Door12A
Ingrid, a New York writer, learns that her old friend and fellow writer Martha is terminally ill. After years apart, Ingrid visits Martha, leading to a deeply moving reunion that brings them closer than ever. Starring Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton, this exquisitely beautiful film explores memory and friendship, marking acclaimed director Pedro Almodóvar’s (Parallel Mothers, Pain & Glory) first English-language feature. Winner of the Golden Lion for Best Film at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.
Reviews
‘The hot Latin lovers have been replaced by pink snow, and the homoeroticism has been dialled down, but this is Almodóvar’s America and it’s a delight.’
★★★★★
Kaieem Aftab, Time Out
‘The film’s very fragility is what makes it so gorgeous.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
