In Camera15

Directed by Naqqash Khalid | UK | 2023 | 1h 35m | Starring Nabhaan Rizwan, Amir El-Masry, Rory Fleck Byrne, Josie Walker, Antonio Aakeel

Aden, a twenty-something aspiring actor, dreams of making it big, but the exhausting audition process is wearing him down. Everything changes when Conrad, a self-assured fashion and lifestyle guru, moves in. His confidence inspires Aden to reinvent himself and pursue a new outlook to his work. In his inventive debut, Naqqash Khalid playfully blends surrealism and satire, skewering an industry full of prejudice and hypocrisy, while introducing an exciting new voice in British cinema.

Reviews

‘A smart, stinging satire that unfolds in a grotesque version of the film and television world, a world that displays its commitment to inclusion and diversity like decorative bunting.’
★★★★
Wendy Ide, The Observer

‘A spiky take on navigating the British film industry as a non-white actor…A promising, righteously frustrated debut about the pressures of modern masculinity.’
★★★★
Hannah Strong, Little White LIes

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
