Perfect DaysPG
Hirayama fills his days by balancing his role as a diligent caretaker of Tokyo’s many public toilets with his love for music, literature, and photography. While he travels around the city, his regular routines are disrupted by a string of unexpected meetings that slowly unveil a hidden history beneath his seemingly tranquil existence. Legendary writer-director Wim Wenders (Paris Texas, Wings of Desire) merges an unconventional portrait of Tokyo with a poetic contemplation on finding beauty in our surroundings. Winner of Best Actor (Koji Yakusho) at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
Reviews
‘Wenders’ obvious affection for Tokyo itself, his keen feel for texture and neat avoidance of cliché all suggest Perfect Days is likely to age well as a portrait of a great city’s everyday side.’
★★★★
Robbie Collin, The Telegraph
‘A poetic, beautifully balanced character study.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
