Werner Herzog: Radical Dreamer15

Directed by Thomas von Steinaecker | Germany/UK | 2022 | 1h 30m

Few filmmakers working today have achieved cult figure status like German New Wave pioneer Werner Herzog. Whether he’s hauling a 300-ton steamboat over a Peruvian mountainside, hypnotising his actors, climbing down into volcanoes, or eating his own shoe, his filmography is marked by its astonishing breadth and philosophical depth. With behind-the-scenes access into Herzog’s everyday life, rare archive material, and interviews with the man himself, this documentary offers a glimpse into his work process as well as his personal life.

Come and see our season of classic Werner Herzog fiction features, showing from Sunday 4th – Monday 26th February. Includes screenings of Aguirre: Wrath of God, The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser, Nosferatu The Vampyre, and Fitzcarraldo. Click here for listings and more info.
