Yoriko’s once ordinary life takes an unexpected turn when her husband and son abruptly depart, leaving her to shoulder the responsibility of caring for her ailing father-in-law. Seeking solace, Yoriko immerses herself in a new religious cult. However, her newfound tranquility is disrupted when her estranged family members suddenly reappear. Directed by Naoko Ogigami, one of Japan’s prolific women directors, this drama highlights the pressing social challenges faced by everyday Japanese people, delving into the burdens of caregiving as well as the lingering anxieties stemming from the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
