Kokomo City18
Grammy-nominated artist turned documentarian D. Smith opens a window into the lives of Black transgender women sex workers in America. Shot in striking black and white, the film delves into the experiences of four women from New York and Georgia, who share their stories with raw honesty. From reflections on love and desire to the complexities of sex work and safety, they openly confront attitudes towards gender and the challenges they face within Black culture and society as a whole.
Winner of the Audience Award the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
