Asteroid City12A

Directed by Wes Anderson | USA | 2023 | 1h 45m | Starring Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston

After their car breaks down, an American photographer and his children stop off in the remote desert town of Asteroid City. Here, the 1955 Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention is in full flow…that is until it is spectacularly disrupted by cosmic, world-changing events. Acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, The Grand Budapest Hotel) returns with another immaculately designed mix of comedy and romance in this offbeat sci-fi starring Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Hanks.

Reviews

‘Wes Anderson returns with one of his most dazzling, rich and playfully self-reflexive films to date, brought to eye-popping life by an all-timer ensemble.’
★★★★★
David Jenkins, Little White Lies

‘Wes Anderson’s ’50s quarantine tale plays like the American auteur’s whimsical, surrealist answer to The Twilight Zone relocated to the dusty desert of the old West.’
★★★★
