Flux Gourmet15

Directed by Peter Strickland | UK | 2022 | 1h 52m | Starring Gwendoline Christie, Asa Butterfield, Fatma Mohamed, Ariane Labed, Richard Bremmer

A dysfunctional collective of artists take up a three-week residency at the Sonic Catering Institute – a place for those whose work straddles avant-garde music and fine dining. A journalist is employed to document the residency, but his own gastrointestinal troubles are as turbulent as the relationship between the artists and their eccentric patron. The director of Duke of Burgundy and In Fabric serves up a delectable audio-visual feast of satirical black humour in his irresistible ode to creativity and artistic integrity.

Reviews

‘Strickland devotees will find plenty to chew on as the film makes its strange path through the digestive canals of their twisted imaginations.’
★★★★
Mark Kermode, The Observer

‘There’s quite a lot to digest, and not all of it goes down easy, but it’s hard to fault Strickland’s ambition and imagination.’
★★★★
Hannah Strong, Little White Lies
