GreasePG

Directed by Randal Kleiser | USA | 1978 | 1h 51m | Starring Olivia Newton-John, John Travolta, Stockard Channing, Eve Arden

“Sad to see summer days drifting away? Join us this Summer Bank Holiday for a one-off screening of Randal Kleiser’s undeniably cheesy and entertaining musical starring the late Olivia Newton-John.

The summer of 1958 is nearly over and the teens of Rydell High reluctantly prepare to return to school. Good girl Sandy and gang leader of the T-Birds Danny fell for each other over the summer, but when they unexpectedly discover they’re now in the same school, will they be able to rekindle their romance?

Reviews

‘It’s every bit the great songfest it’s hailed as, with bucketloads of innuendo thown in behind some of the most energetic musical numbers ever to grace the inside of a movie theatre.’
★★★★★
Caroline Westbrook, Empire Magazine

‘Travolta and Newton-John’s summer lovin’ still a blast…a sugar-rush of a film’
★★★★★
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
