After LifePG

Directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda | Japan | 1998 | 1h 59m | Japanese/English subs | Starring Arata Iura, Susumu Terajima, Kyôko Kagawa, Taketoshi Naitô, Sayaka Yoshino

Set in a mundane posthumous limbo, a group of people who have recently died must choose one memory that will constitute their own private version of heaven. Once the memories have been chosen, counsellors help recreate and film each scene for the deceased to hold onto for eternity. Hirokazu Kore-eda’s revelatory international breakthrough is an offbeat and quietly profound meditation on memory, love, and the power of cinema.

If you buy a ticket for this screening of After Life as well as Still Walking (Sat 27 Nov, 18:30) and Shoplifters (Sun 28 Nov, 18:00) in a single transaction, you will receive a 15% discount on the total cost.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
