The Nest15

Dir. Sean Durkin | UK/USA | 2021 | 1h 47m | Starring Jude Law, Carrie Coon, Oona Roche, Charlie Shotwell

An ambitious entrepreneur persuades his American wife and kids to move to his native country, England, to explore new business opportunities. After abandoning the comforts of suburban America they move into a crumbling, old country manor where their unaffordable new life threatens to destroy the family. An elegantly shot cautionary tale of 1980s greed featuring an outstanding pair of lead performances by Jude Law and Carrie Coon.

Reviews

‘Jude Law excels in this brooding parable of financial folly…It’s a slippery mood piece which tantalises by imploding on purpose.’ ★★★★ Tim Robey, The Telegraph

‘Accomplished and uneasy family drama, a film with a delicate slow build that feels fitting for a director who’s also taken his time to make it.’ ★★★★ Benjamin Lee, The Guardian
