In the city of San Francisco, a retired police officer with a fear of heights is drawn into a perplexing investigation when an old friend asks him to look into his wife’s erratic behaviour. As the case unfolds, he becomes more and more obsessed, leading him into a web of mistaken identity, passion, and murder. Alfred Hitchcock’s haunting tale of desire was initially met with mixed reviews, but has transformed into a celebrated masterpiece over the decades and is now widely acclaimed as the director’s finest work.
