TINA15

Directed by Daniel Lindsay & T.J. Martin | USA | 2021 | 1h 58m

A revealing and intimate look at the life of the late, great musical icon Tina Turner, charting her improbable rise to early fame, her personal and professional struggles throughout her life and her resurgence as a global phenomenon in the 1980s. An inspiring documentary utilising a wealth of audio tapes, personal archival materials, and interviews celebrating the career of one of the first female African American artists to reach a mainstream international audience.

Reviews

‘I went into Tina feeling like I knew this story in my bones, but the film kept opening my eyes — to new insights, new tremors of empathy, and a new appreciation for what a towering artist Tina Turner is.’
Owen Gleiberman, Variety

‘It’s a crowdpleasing tale of triumph over adversity which hits its raw highs and gritty lows every bit as emphatically as Turner during her famously electric performances.’
Wendy Ide, Screen International
