The Eyes of Tammy Faye12A
An intimate look at the rise and fall of American televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker and her fraudster husband Jim Bakker, who rose from humble beginnings to create the world’s largest religious broadcasting network. Oscar-nominee Jessica Chastain gives a dazzling performance in this sympathetic biopic of a misunderstood figure who became an unlikely LGBTQ icon.
Reviews
‘A riveting, unleashed and award-worthy performance from Jessica Chastain, playing a central character full of tensions and contradictions, is reason enough to see this film.’
★★★★
Kevin Maher, The Times
‘Jessica Chastain gives a hilarious turn as Tammy Faye: like Tammy Wynette with a bit of Nancy Reagan and Eva Perón.’
★★★★
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
