The Bride Of FrankensteinPG
Dr. Frankenstein and his monster survive an attack by an angry mob. The now-chastened scientist tries to leave his past behind, but a former mentor coerces him into creating a new creature. An eccentric, technically masterful, and genuinely scary classic, James Whale’s The Bride of Frankenstein continues to captivate audiences nearly a century later, celebrated not only as a landmark of horror cinema but also for its bold, subversive exploration of desire, identity and inherent queer themes.
Reviews
‘Whale’s erudite genius brings it all together. He sculpts every nuance of self-parody, social satire, horror, humour, wit and whimsy into a dazzling whole, keeping every one of his fantastical plates spinning until the tragic, inevitable finale.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
