School Of Rock12A
After being kicked out of his band and desperate for cash, struggling musician Dewey Finn scams his way into a job as a fifth-grade substitute teacher at an elite private school. Discovering his students’ hidden musical talents, he sets out to turn them into a rock ‘n’ roll powerhouse, hoping for redemption at a local Battle of the Bands. Jack Black delivers a career-defining performance in this raucous, heartwarming, and empowering comedy from acclaimed American filmmaker Richard Linklater (Before Sunrise, Boyhood, Dazed And Confused).
Reviews
‘A raucous crowd pleaser with a pumping soundtrack, some awe inspiringly talented kids, and perfect comic performances.’
★★★★
Chris Hewitt, Empire Magazine
‘Yet there are subversive details that elevate it beyond standard feelgood fare, notably Black’s insistence on treating his young charges like battle-hardened veterans…’
★★★★

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
