Possible Love15
Filmmaker Ye-ji is making a documentary about workers who have been made redundant. A chance meeting leads her to Mi-ok’s family, whose lives have been upended by her husband’s unemployment, and they seem like ideal subjects. But the gap in class and background between them is hard to ignore and, as cracks start to show in the collaboration, both couples are forced to look hard at their marriages. Master filmmaker Lee Chang-dong (Burning, Poetry) returns after eight years with a typically thought-provoking story of class, desire, and the search for freedom.
Reviews
‘It’s a remarkable feat that Lee contains so many narrative threads within Possible Love without ever losing command of them; rather they come together to create a drama that feels rich and lived-in.’
★★★★★
Hannah Strong, Little White Lies
‘It all makes for a slower burn, less tumultuous companion piece to the Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice and Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite. Together, they form a bleak triptych of modern fables that show society stratifying in increasingly insurmountable ways.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
