On The AdamantPG
Moored on the banks of the Seine in the heart of Paris, the Adamant is a floating care centre that welcomes adults living with mental issues. Using a variety of different approaches, the team who run the centre offer a retreat with an empowering emphasis on artistic expression and cultural engagement. Nicolas Philibert’s empathetic documentary meets the Adamant regulars – including punks, poets and social outsiders – on their terms, in an impassioned argument for enlightened mental health care. Winner of the Golden Bear (Best Film) at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival.
Reviews
‘There is a gentle and very happy sense of freedom and possibility aboard the Adamant, and there is enormous warmth, sympathy and human curiosity in this film.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
