In the countryside of Japan, two young sisters move to a rural home while their mother is recovering in the hospital. They soon encounter friendly forest spirits, including the gentle and magical Totoro, who guide them through their new world. This charming and whimsical film by acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki beautifully captures the wonder of childhood and the magic of nature. Celebrated for its enchanting animation and heartwarming story, My Neighbor Totoro is widely heralded as one of Studio Ghibli’s greatest works and one of the best animated films of all time.

Screenings on Saturday 24th and Thursday 29th August are presented in the original Japanese language (with English subtitles). Screenings on Friday 23rd and Monday 26th August will be the English dubbed version.

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
