Much Ado About Dying15
When filmmaker Simon Chambers receives a call from his eccentric retired actor uncle, claiming to be at death’s door, he rushes to his side, only to discover that the situation isn’t quite as dire as he thought. While his health is faltering, his anarchic spirit remains unbreakable. As Simon assists him in organizing his estate and untangling some of the mess he’s found himself in, an uplifting story emerges, illustrating the best approach to facing life’s end. This unfiltered and good-humored documentary delves into the emotional challenges of caregiving and explores the concept of a “good death.”
Reviews
‘I can think of few documentaries that are more honest, self-scrutinising and revelatory about ageing, familial love and its limits, and the whole tragicomic process of dying.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road.We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We only show a few adverts – less than most cinemas – and we only play a couple of trailers, so please don’t be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
