After the sudden death of the Pope, Cardinal Lawrence is drawn into one of the world’s most secretive and ancient rites: the selection of a new pontiff. Surrounded by powerful religious figures within the Vatican’s storied halls, he soon finds himself entangled in a conspiracy that threatens to shake the Catholic Church to its core. Spanning a tension-filled 72 hours, this gripping drama explores a high-stakes clash between tradition, politics, and faith. Featuring standout performances by Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and Isabella Rossellini, Oscar-winning director Edward Berger’s (All Quiet on the Western Front) captivating drama is based on Robert Harris’ novel from 2016.

‘A gradually swelling, deeply intellectual, and unexpectedly fun political thriller’

Tomris Laffly, The AV Club

‘Conclave is smart, provocative, sometimes funny, and determined to make us rethink our initial impressions. It challenges us to challenge ourselves and is wildly entertaining, one of the year’s standout films.’

Our beautiful art deco inspired auditorium can be found just off East Oxford's Cowley Road. We are open 7 days a week. We open the cinema and box office 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of each film, and the Box Office then closes 10 minutes after the film starts. We don’t show adverts, just a couple of trailers, so don't be late as the film itself starts very close to the advertised time!
